Theory of Motion

/monthTheory of Motion is a monthly workout program designed to help you move better, build functional strength, and feel unstoppable. Created by Jason and Lauren Pak, each 4-week training block evolves with you - combining science-based programming and purposeful movement so you can train smarter, not harder.
We have two tracks to choose from: "full" and "lite"
Theory of Motion "full" is for those with full gym access who want a complete strength + mobility program with heavier loading, more movement variety, and progressive training using barbells, cable machines, and specialty equipment.
Theory of Motion "lite" is for those training at home or on the go with limited equipment - just dumbbells, kettlebells, and bands - offering simple, accessible programming that still delivers smart progression and meaningful results.
Within the app you'll be able to choose between "full" and "lite," and you'll also be able to select a 2, 3, or 4 day plan depending on which training schedule works best for you! You can always change your programming choice too - simply message us in the app and we can make any adjustments you need!
What Jason and Lauren have created here is truly something special. I’ve been training for many years and have always struggled to find/create a program that effectively combines strength, mobility, power, and functional training, but they’ve managed to bring it all together seamlessly. The program includes everything I’ve been looking for, while still being incredibly user-friendly, adaptable, constantly evolving, and genuinely fun to follow. Since starting, my motivation to get to the gym has been consistent in a way it hasn’t been for a very long time. It completely removes the stress of having to plan your own workouts, figure out when and how to switch things up, and ensure you’re progressing properly. On top of that, their support and service are outstanding. I had an issue with a payment, and they responded quickly and were both kind and incredibly helpful. I can’t recommend this enough!
Let me start by saying that I have tried a handful of workout apps with the intention of sticking to a gym routine, but didn’t commit to any of the apps for one reason or another. Either there were just too many options for plans and I couldn’t pick one to be consistent with, or there weren’t any plans that totally suited what I wanted, etc. Then I tried this one and immediately knew it was exactly what I wished all the other ones were. There’s one plan to follow so no decision fatigue, yet there’s enough built in variety to keep things interesting (not to mention that variety is crucial to build true functional strength and resilience) And even though there’s one plan, there are options for choosing frequency, splits, and equipment setup (home vs gym), so those options make it easy to tailor to one’s individual routine. As a physical therapist, I appreciate the emphasis on functional movements as well as the inclusion of prehab and mobility exercises in order to round out and support the resistance training, and as a strength and conditioning specialist, I feel that these guys know their stuff when it comes to programming. It’s clear that they’ve designed the training sessions with intention and purpose. They’ve left nothing out, yet the sessions are efficient and manageable in terms of time commitment. I really appreciate the consistency of the foundational full body lifts/exercises which allows for appropriate progressive overload, as well as the inclusion of unilateral and multiplanar resistance based exercises, power development, and agility based movements which trains the body to be resilient and build tissue capacity in a way that translates to sports and life in general, especially an active life. Like I said, they’ve left nothing out! This is the kind of program I am truly excited to commit to because I know that I will see gains from it, because it’s built on rock solid fundamentals and principles of exercise science. Big big thumbs up from me!!
Jason and Lauren have put together something really special here! This program is approachable to both newcomers and seasoned lifters - plus it's enjoyable (most importantly)! The monthly workout planning helps me to practice tried-and-true movements while exploring other new, compound ones. It also helps to prevent physical plateau, which is nice. I've been lifting weights for years now, but this program has helped me be consistent in my workouts and make me more physically capable in my horseback riding! As someone in the medical field, I try to practice what I preach as far as exercise and food goes. This app has helped me on my health journey, and I recommend Theory of Motion to any of my my patients who want to make movement a part of their lifestyle changes.
Keep up the good work, y'all!
I had been searching for a training program that goes beyond traditional strength training and takes a more holistic approach to performance. With Theory of Motion, I finally found exactly that.
I’ve been following the 3-day full body program for three months now, and it’s the first time I’ve truly stayed consistent without getting bored or looking for something new. The training blends foundational strength work with power development and varied movement patterns, which keeps it challenging and engaging. I’m consistently seeing real progress.
The app is well structured, the exercise videos are clear and easy to follow, and the customer service is friendly and responsive. Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed and highly motivating program.
I have followed Lauren and Jason’s programming for several years through RISE and now Theory of Motion. It’s far and away the most thoughtful, well rounded program I’ve ever used. I follow a three-day, full body split and am measurably stronger than I was a year ago. The app has a bit of a learning curve, but is ultimately easy to use and track progress. I recommend this program to anyone looking to take a wholistic approach to strength training that incorporates mobility and power development with lifting. Plus, the team and customer service are kind and responsive!
